HISTORY

Marisa Cano began her business career with her sister in the early 1970s opening her first boutique in Murcia named “Woman”. Since the beginning the shop was very successful.

She studied at the IGE (Instituto Gemológico Español) in Madrid and she became a gemmologist and diamond expert. Encouraged by her enterpreneurial spirit she embarked on a new management adventure and set up her own business in 1980s in Murcia, named MarisaCano Joyass. She founded her own workshop to do her own  jewellery designs.

In 1996 she opened the current and splendid jewellery shop, designed by the architect Vicente Martínez Gadea, and located at city center of Murcia. Thanks to MarisaCano's jewels and to Vicente Martinez Gadea's building, this jewellery has become a synonym of elegance, exclusivity and sophistication.

 Concerned with the social problems in the world she cooperates with various NGO in Spain and to declare her support to the Aids patients she published a book with the pictures of the high public figures from Murcia posing with her different jewellery collections, and she donated all the profit of the book sales to that cause.

 After her trip to Australia in order to study the Australian Pearls she published, in 2000, the book “El Eterno Hechizo de las Perlas” (IJK Editores, Murcia)

 In 2007 she opened the exclusive and elegant jewellery shop at the well known Salamanca’s neighbourhood in Madrid (Velázquez street nº9).

We are currently in MarisaCano Joyass Platería Street nº 22 - Murcia, Solera Rest. - New York City, Castelló Street - Madrid, Wellington Hotel - Madrid, Murcia Archena Spa - Archena, Murcia and 525 Hotel - Los Alcazares Murcia.

 In 1995, Marisa Cano was prizewinner by the  Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Murcia with the Mercurio Prize. The most important price for the world of commerce in Murcia.

2000: CROEM (Confederación Regional de Organizaciones Empresariales de Murcia).

2001: Tahitian Pearl Trophy (GIE Perles from Tahití)for her piece “La luz de Polinesia”

2003: Tahitian Pearl Trophy (GIE Perles from Tahití)for her piece “Danzantes sobre las olas”

2005: Tahitian Pearl Trophy (GIE Perles from Tahití) for her piece “Fuego and Glacé”
